Guests and School-aged Siblings
Parents, grandparents, and other caregivers are welcome to attend class at any time, no need to ask. Whole family music-making at home is extremely valuable to your child's music development, and attending class occasionally helps family members feel more comfortable joining in. During the summer and in other special circumstances, school-aged siblings are welcome to join the class and participate as good role models for the younger children.
Please email us if you are planning to bring older siblings so that we can enter it manually. There is no need to register school-aged children ages 5 and above online when they are attending as an older sibling helper.
The health of all classroom participants is important to us, so we take measures to ensure the cleanliness of our classroom and limit exposure to germs as well as potential allergens. Sanitizing wipes are available in class, and we ask caregivers to place instruments in a special bin to be sanitized after they have been mouthed. If you or your child is sick, please stay home from class and schedule a make-up. Please do not eat or drink in the classroom. Nursing mothers are welcome (and encouraged!) to nurse during class as needed. Water bottles with secure lids placed out of reach of wandering toddlers are also fine.
In the event of school closings due to weather, Music Together® classes MAY be cancelled. Please be aware that we do not always cancel class when the local schools are cancelled! Class changes or cancellations will be posted under the "Latest News" column on the right-hand side of our homepage and on our Facebook page. We will also send out an e-mail with this information.
Late start days typically do not change our Music Together schedule.
If you have school-aged children and need to either bring them along or shift to an earlier or later class on late start days please feel free to do so.
If you miss your regularly scheduled Music Together Vivo! class for any reason, you may schedule a make-up class. Two make-up classes are allowed each semester for each registered child, on a space-available basis.
To schedule a make-up class, use our online Make-Up Scheduler. You may search for a class by time, day, or location, and the scheduler will display the available options. If a given class is not displayed as an option for a make-up, it means all make-up spots for that class have been assigned; please schedule your make-up for a different class or check back later to see if a spot becomes available. If you know you will not be attending a previously scheduled make-up class, please cancel it so the spot becomes available for another family.
Sometimes, due to either a severe illness, a child's inability to adjust to the class, or some other unforeseen but exceptional reason, families find it necessary to withdraw during the semester. If you find yourself in a uniquely challenging situation please contact your Director. We understand that sometimes unexpected things happen. Please note, however, that non-attendance does not constitute a withdrawal from class.
